A VERSION OF WATER AND OIL - CARD TRICK
A classic card magic trick. I love this version! This is an advanced card trick and it requires a lot of practice. Remember: Learn the tricks + Practice tricks = Great Presentation! With this tricks you can show to everyone your skill as great card magician.
SUPER WATER AND OIL
Presentation:
Two spectators each take a card and show the cards to everyone.
They put the cards back in the deck, and you shuffle the cards.
Separate the deck into four stacks.
Make someone choose two, and you shuffle these two stacks together.
Then shuffle the other two stacks together.
Finally, shuffle the two new stacks you have created together.
You should end with one deck.
It impossible to know their cards because you shuffled the cards before and after they took their cards.
You say that it is difficult, but you know which cards they took because the deck works like water and oil.
The meaning is that the more you shuffle the cards they will always be separated as water and oil. In this case by colors.
Now spread the cards on the table face up.
The cards are separated by colors red and black, with red on one half and black on the other.
For a spectacular finish, you show that the spectator’s black card is in the red half and a red card is in the black half.
Secret:
Before your presentation, separate the black cards and red cards. Nobody see it. Put the red half on the top and the black cards on the bottom.
Having the deck of cards face down in your hands.
Spread the cards in your hands and ask one spectator to take a card. He needs to take the card from the top half of the deck, which are the red cards.
For that you need to force it.
Spread the half of the deck of cards in your hands, so the spectator takes one card from the top - red.
Now the black card.
Spread the half of the deck of cards in your hands, so the spectator takes one card from the bottom half - black card.
Ask the second spectator to take a card.
At the end they are taking cards of different colors, one red and black.
Tell the first spectator to put the card in back into the deck. - RED CARD -
This RED card is going to be into the black cards.
Making a fan with the cards, you open only the bottom half of the deck, so he puts his red card back into the black cards.
Then tell the other spectator to put his card back.
So you open the deck extending the top half of the cards, so that this spectator will put his black card in the red half.
Now, put card by card face down on the table from the top of the deck making 4 stacks with the whole deck.
It needs to be one by one. Talk about water and oil. No matter how much you mix oil and water, they always separate. And you will explain it better with this card trick.
After your finish puting dow the whole deck of cards.
Then tell someone else to pick two stacks.
You shuffle these with the “riffle shuffle,” mixing the cards. Remeber they are separate by reds and blacks.
Take another packet and do it again, but be careful because these should also be separated by red and black.
AT THE END OF THE SHUFFLES YOU SHOULD HAVE THE WHOLE DECK OF CARDS SEPARATE BY RED AND BLACKS. WITH ONE RED CARD INTO THE BLACK CARDS AND ONE BLACK CARD INTO THE RED CARDS.
Now you have the whole deck. Look at the cards and you can see the cards are separated by red and black.
The red cards have a black card and the black cards have a red card. So these are the spectators’ cards.
Tell the spectators their cards, as if you are guessing which cards.
A GRAND FINALE!
Then you spread the cards face up on the table, and show that the cards are separated by the colors, red and black.
Show that the red cards have a black card. That is the first spectator’s card, and the black cards have a red card. That is the card of the second spectator.
