Control by riffle shuffle:

The controlled card has the X and arrow. You can use this card trick technique to control a card on the top of the deck of cards.  

A. Control of a card on the top:

Having the controlled card on the top of deck. Cut the deck in half and keep the top stack in your right hand.

The spectator’s card - or controlled card - will be on the top of the right stack. Shuffle the cards, and when you finish, leave the last card from the right hand on the top of the deck.
